Breakchains with Blockchain
Tens of thousands of women are sent to prison in Egypt every year. Their crime? Not being able to repay loans borrowed for amounts of only a few hundred dollars. To rise awareness about the topic, we launched a humane initiative inspired by the reasons for their imprisonment, creating in collaboration with artists from around the world, a NFT collection. Each NFT from the collection is priced at the amount it will cost to free them, from their sentence and give them a second chance at life.

In Egypt, under the Article Nº 341, defaulting on a loan is a criminal act that carries a prison sentence. Every year tens of thousands of women are sent to prison for defaulting on loans borrowed for a few hundred dollars.
To raise awareness about the topic no one cares about, we jumped on the trend everyone is talking about, NFTs.
Artists from around the world created pieces of art inspired by the stories of these women.
